Why Samarpan

Real Treatment. Not Just Containment.

That line reflects four things we aim to bring into every client's care. Here's what they can look like in practice, not just as a phrase on a page.

Five things that shape the way we approach treatment.

01

Structure

A full day here is intended to have a shape to it: individual therapy, group work, structured activity, and time built in to be around other people doing similar work. Structure is meant to be part of how the treatment plan is delivered, and it can be reviewed and adjusted by your family member's therapist and the wider clinical team.

In practice: a full day is planned before it starts, rather than filled in as it goes.
02

Honesty

We won't tell you addiction treatment can guarantee an outcome, because no one honestly can. What we can tell you is what the programme involves, what it can and can't promise, and what continuing care can look like once your family member is home.

In practice: your family member's treatment plan is explained to you in plain terms, rather than clinical shorthand you're left to interpret on your own.
03

Community

Recovery can be harder to sustain in isolation. Group therapy, shared meals, shared activity, and peer support are built into each day at Samarpan, not offered as an optional extra.

In practice: meals, groups, and downtime happen alongside other clients doing similar work.
04

Understanding

Each client is assigned a focal therapist, one person responsible for building and adjusting a treatment plan around their specific situation, goals, and history, rather than a fixed template applied to everyone.

In practice: two clients dealing with the same substance can still leave with different treatment plans.
05

Evidence-Based, Individualised Treatment

Treatment is not based on a single therapy or philosophy. Depending on each client's assessment and clinical needs, the treatment plan can draw on established psychological and behavioural approaches, alongside psychiatric and medical care where indicated. The aim is not simply to stop substance use during residential treatment, but to address the patterns, difficulties and risks that can affect recovery after someone leaves.

You Should Be Skeptical, Not Just Convinced

Every family reaching out to us has likely heard some version of "world-class care" from somewhere else, on a brochure, a landing page, a phone call that promised more than it could explain.

So we're not asking you to take our word for anything on this page. It's worth naming a few things that skepticism can reasonably get right.

A beautiful facility is not, by itself, evidence of effective treatment.

The environment matters — particularly for safety, privacy, dignity and comfort — but the more important question is what happens within it: how someone is assessed, how their treatment is planned, who delivers that treatment, and how that plan changes as their needs change.

The environment matters, but the more important question is what happens within it.

Withdrawal management is only one part of addiction treatment.

Where medically indicated, it focuses on safely managing intoxication and withdrawal and stabilising the individual. Depending on the substance and the person's clinical circumstances, this may take days or longer.

But completing withdrawal management does not, by itself, treat the underlying substance use disorder. The psychological, behavioural and social work that follows is therefore a central part of treatment and recovery.

If a facility talks primarily about detox, it is worth asking what happens afterwards.

Held to a Standard, Not Just Our Word

Here's what backs up our claims at Samarpan, and what each one involves.

CARF Accreditation

CARF Accreditation

Our accredited services have undergone an independent peer-review process assessing their conformance with internationally recognised standards for quality. CARF accreditation also requires an ongoing commitment to quality improvement — it is not simply a one-time certificate.

Gorski-CENAPS Model

The Gorski-CENAPS Model

Our clinical team is trained in a structured approach to relapse prevention, applied consistently across the team.

A Focal Therapist for Every Client

Every client is assigned a focal therapist who coordinates their treatment plan, reviews their progress and works with the wider multidisciplinary team throughout their programme.

One person helping keep the treatment plan connected.

A Multidisciplinary Clinical Team

Psychiatric, psychological, therapeutic and nursing care are coordinated around the client's treatment plan, allowing different members of the clinical team to contribute to a shared understanding of the client's needs and progress.

Coordinated Clinical Care Different members of the clinical team contribute to a shared understanding of the client's needs and progress.

We can't promise that treatment will permanently remove the possibility of relapse.

No reputable treatment provider can guarantee that.

What we can say is what treatment can do: help your family member understand their addiction, build coping and relapse prevention skills, and leave with a continuing care plan in place, not simply a completed programme.

What we won't say is that someone will never relapse, that recovery will feel easy, or that a fixed number of weeks guarantees a particular outcome. Anyone suggesting otherwise may not be giving you the full picture.

Questions Families Ask Before Deciding

How is this different from sending my family member somewhere similar overseas? What if they refuse? How do I know this isn't just good marketing?

How is this different from sending my family member somewhere similar overseas?

The clinical model, accreditation, and multidisciplinary team are built to comparable international standards, without the added complexity of arranging care, travel, and follow-up across borders. We do work directly with international families when that's the right fit.

What if my family member refuses to come?

That can be a common starting point. You can still speak with us about what is happening, what options may be available, and how your family can respond constructively. Contacting us for guidance does not require your family member's agreement, although treatment itself ordinarily depends on appropriate consent and clinical circumstances.

How do I know this isn't just good marketing?

Ask us anything, specifically. A direct answer to a specific question can tell you more about our credibility than any single page on this website, including this one.

Ask Us Anything Before You Decide

You don't have to have this figured out before you call. If something here raised a question, ask it.
