Frequently Asked Questions

A lot of what you're wondering is probably already answered somewhere on this site, usually in more depth than a quick answer here could give. This page covers the practical, in-between questions that don't quite belong on any single page.

Before You Decide

Before You Decide

Yes. Reaching out doesn't commit you or your family member to anything. Most families we speak with are still weighing the decision, not ready to admit someone tomorrow, and that's a completely normal stage to be at when you call.

Ask us directly about this. It's a reasonable thing to want before committing to something this significant, and we'd rather give you a direct, current answer than a vague one here.

A previous unsuccessful attempt at treatment, here or anywhere else, doesn't rule anything out. It's useful clinical information, not a bad sign, and it becomes part of a fresh assessment rather than something held against your family member.

If this is specifically about a previous stay at Samarpan, see our Relapse page.

Practical Logistics

Practical Logistics

This varies by situation and is worked out directly with the clinical team as part of admission. Ask us about your specific circumstances rather than assuming a fixed rule applies to everyone.

No. With the client's consent, any significant person in their life, a sibling, an adult child, a close friend, can be involved in the same way a parent or spouse would be. It's about who's actually significant to your family member, not a fixed category.

Yes.

See our International Clients page for what that process actually involves.

Clinical Questions

Clinical Questions

Yes. Addiction very often occurs alongside conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma, and treating one without the other tends not to hold. Every assessment looks at both together, not just the substance or behaviour that prompted the call.

Detox addresses physical withdrawal, sometimes in a matter of days. Rehab, the psychological and behavioural work that determines whether change actually holds, takes weeks, not days. Detox alone is rarely enough on its own.

Cost and Insurance

Cost and Insurance

This depends on your specific policy and situation. Ask us directly rather than assuming either way, since we'd rather give you an accurate answer than a generic one.

See Fees and What's Included for everything that is confirmed about cost.
